TUESDAY DECEMBER 4

Tomy Bewick
First featured at Ottawa's Capital Slam 2005, Tomy Bewick was invited to
compete in the 2006 CBC Poetry Face-Off. Since then he has been pushing
his work on many levels: a fledgling clothing company (Truth Proof);
visionpoems; chapbook (A Telling Moment); Spoken Word CD (Talking It Out
Of The System); multi-media showcase (Open Minds Respect Events). A member
of the poetry collective, Family Reunion, his main focus is on the youth
of today and tomorrow. He competed in the 2007 Canadian Festival of Spoken
Word, as part of the Roots Lounge Toronto team.

Nadine McInnis
McInnis is the author of six books including Quicksilver (short stories),
Hand to Hand (poetry), and Poetics of Desire: Essays on Dorothy Livesay.
Her poetry has appeared in a variety of journals including The Malahat
Review, The New Quarterly and Event. She will be celebrating a new book of
poetry, Two Hemispheres (Brick Books) which describes her encounter with
the photographs: Patients of the Surrey County Lunatic Asylum, and her own
journey through clinical depression. She lives in Ottawa.

Ruth Roach Pierson
Toronto poet Ruth Roach Pierson is the author of two books of poetry:
Where No Window Was (BuschekBooks, 2002) and Aide-mémoire (BuschekBooks,
2007). Her poetry has appeared in such journals as Arc, Event and The
Fiddlehead. She won 1st prize in the 2002 poetry contest of Word: Toronto
Literary Calendar, and was a finalist in the 2003 Pagitica Literary
Contest.
