TUESDAY JUNE  3

Katia Grubisic
Katia Grubisic has had poetry, fiction,translations and reviews published
in the Globe and Mail, Arc, Books in Canada, Grain, The Fiddlehead and
Grain among others. She is an editor with The New Quarterly and lives in
Montreal. She will be celebrating her first book, What if red ran out
(Goose Lane Editions).

Rocco de Giacomo
Rocco de Giacomo is a Toronto poet who has been widely published in
literary journals. His work appeared recently in CV2, Magma Poetry and
Tower Poetry Society. He is the author of five chapbook collections of
poems. The most recent chapbook is, Catching Dawn's Breath (LyricalMyrical
Press).

Stephen Humphrey
Stephen Humphrey is a writer and poet living in Toronto. His first poetry
collection, Blue Angels, was published by Seraphim Editions in 2004. He is
a frequent contributor to NOW.


TUESDAY JUNE  10

Monty Reid
Born in Saskatchewan, Monty Reid worked at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of
Paleontology in Drumheller before moving to Ottawa in 1999. Currently, he
is Director of Exhibition Services at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Reid
has won the Lampman-Scott Award, three Stephan G. Stephansson Awards for
poetry, and has been nominated three times for the Governor-General's
Award. He will be celebrating his fourteenth book, The Luskville
Reductions (Brick Books).

Phlip Arima
Phlip Arima has been working in the arts for more than twenty-five years.
He is a former director of the Art Bar Poetry Series and is best known for
his rivetting performances. He will be reading from his recently published
third book of poetry, Breathe Now (BuschekBooks). For more about Phlip

Yannick Marshall
Yannick Marshall is a young Afrikan poet of St. Lucian and Jamaican
heritage. He spent much of his life in the community of Rexdale in
Toronto. He is currently studying at the UofT. He will be celebrating his
first book, Old Friend, We Made This for You (Kellom Books, an imprint of
Canadian Scholars' Press).


TUESDAY JUNE 17

James Deahl
James Deahl was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to
Canada in 1970. He is the author of seventeen literary titles, most
recently When Rivers Speak (Unfinished Monument Press); The River's Stone
Roots: Two Dozen Poems by Tu Fu (Serengeti Press); If Ever Two Were One
(Aeolus Press). He lives in Hamilton.

Lisa Pasold
Lisa Pasold recently returned to Toronto after living in Paris, France for
the past decade. Last winter, she spent three months in Dawson City,
Yukon, as the Berton House writer-in-residence. As a journalist, she has
worked in such places as Belarus, Marrakech and Kenya. She is the author
of two books of poetry. Weave (Frontenac House) was a finalist for the
Alberta Book Award. A Bad Year For Journalists (Frontenac House) appeared
in 2006.

Pier Giorgio Di Cicco
Pier Giorgio Di Cicco has authored seventeen collections of poetry since
1976 and was a seminal figure in Canadian multiculturalism with his
edition of the first anthology of Italian-Canadian writers. In 1984 he
removed himself from the world of letters and became an Augustinian
Brother, and was subsequently ordained to the Roman Catholic Priesthood.
He returned to the world of literature in 2000 with four successive
volumes of poetry including The Dark Time of Angels (The Mansfield Press)
which was nominated for the 2004 Trillium Award. He is the Poet Laureate
of the city of Toronto.


TUESDAY JUNE 24

David Day
David Day is the author of seven books of poetry, starting with The
Cowichan (Oolichan Books, 1975). The most recent book is Just Say No to
Family Values (Exile Editions, 1997). He has also written books of
ecology, history, fantasy, mythology and fiction. His works have been
translated into twenty languages. Born and raised in Victoria BC, he has
lived in England, Greece and Spain. He currently lives in Toronto.

Mel Sarnese
Mel Sarnese is a Toronto poet whose poems have been published in journals
such as Quills. She will be celebrating the publication of her first
chapbook titled, Leper's Cave (The Stanza Break Series, Ontario Poetry
Society). The poems in this book were written while she was in forced
isolation during the SARS crisis in Toronto in 2003.

Lee Maracle
Lee Maracle is a member of the Stolo Nation. She is the author of a number
of award-winning works including Ravenson; Bobbi Lee; Sojourner's Truth
and other stories; My Home as I Remember; Telling it: Women and Language
Across Cultures. She is currently ABS/English Associate Professor at UofT,
and instructor at Centre for Indigenous Theatre. She is the author of the
poetry collection Bent Box (Theytus Books).
