The Art Bar Poetry Series takes place at
Clinton's, 693 Bloor Street West, right by Christie Subway Station.

****** TUESDAY JANUARY 13 *******
SPECIAL NIGHT!
We're taking the Art Bar on the road for one night. On Tuesday 13 January
we will be at The Augusta House, 152 Augusta Ave in Kensington Market from
7 - 9:30pm. There will be two featured poets: Adam Getty and Ray Hsu.
In 2003 Adam Getty's book, Reconciliation (Nightwood Editions), won the
Gerald Lampert Award for best first book of poetry and was a finalist for
the Trillium Award. He lives in Hamilton.
In 2005 Ray Hsu's book, Anthropy (Nightwood Editions), won the Gerald
Lampert Award for best first book of poetry and was a finalist for the
Trillium Award. He lives in Vancouver.
TUESDAY JANUARY 20
Ian Burgham
Born in New Zealand, Ian Burgham now lives in Toronto. He attended U of
Edinburgh, Scotland where he received a Master of Letters. In 2004-5 he
received the Queen's University "Well-Versed" Poetry Award. He is the
author of The Stone Skippers (Tightrope Books) which was nominated for the
2008 ReLit Award.
Amanda Hiebert
A poet, actor, playwright and graduate of the Vancouver Film School,
Amanda Hiebert has performed over a hundred shows in Toronto. She has been
on the Toronto Poetry Slam Team for six years. "She likes roller coasters,
peanut brittle, her grandfather's laugh, old hats, and kissing cute boys."
Michael Fraser
Michael Fraser is a high school teacher, poet, and writer. He has been
published in such journals as Literary Review of Canada, The Paris
Atlantic, and Caribbean Writer. He won the 2005 Toronto Star "Poem About
Toronto" contest. His manuscript, The Serenity of Stone, won the 2007
Canadian Aid Literary Award and was published in 2008 by Bookland Press.
TUESDAY JANUARY 27
AUDIENCE APPRECIATION NIGHT
General merriment is guaranteed on this annual evening of words and music.
There will be the complimentary chapbook of poetry; readings by the Art
Bards; live music from New Orleans style jazz band Canal Street Four
(ladies bring your parasols!). No hat will be passed.
