TUESDAY JUNE 2

Bill Howell
Bill Howell is the author of three previous collections and an
award-winning chapbook, Ghost Test Flights (Rubicon Press). He has recent
work in Antigonish Review, Descant, Existere, LRC, Magma (UK), New
Quarterly, New York Quarterly, Nthposition (UK), Rampike, and The Best
Canadian Poetry in English, 2008. This spring, Insomniac Press launches
his long-awaited new collection, Porcupine Archery.

Tanya Neumeyer
Tanya Neumeyer is an emerging spoken word artist who has been learning to
slam. She was the champion at Kingston's first slam and has tested the
waters in Montreal and Burlington. She has participated in spoken word
festivals in Detroit and Madison and continues to experiment at Toronto
Slams.

Naomi Guttman
Naomi Guttman was born and raised in Montreal. Her book, Reasons For
Winter (Brick Books) won the A.M.Klein Award and was a finalist for the
Pat Lowther Award. Another book, Wet Apples, White Blood (McGill-Queen's
University Press) was co-winner of the 2007 Adirondack Center for
Writing's Best Book of Poems. Currently she teaches English and Creative
Writing at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.


TUESDAY JUNE 9

Barry Dempster
Barry Dempster is the author of nine books of poetry, starting with Fables
For Isolated Men (Guernica Editions, 1982). His work has won a
Confederation Poets Prize and a Petra Kenney Award. The Burning Alphabet
(Brick Books, 2005) won The Canadian Authors Association Chalmers Award,
and was nominated for The Governor General's Award. He will be celebrating
his newest book, Love Outlandish (Brick Books, 2009).

Ronna Bloom
Ronna Bloom has published three books of poetry. Fear of the Ride
(Carleton University Press) was a finalist for the Gerald Lampert Award.
Public Works (Pedlar Press) was a finalist for the Pat Lowther Award. She
works as a poetry teacher and psychotherapist in Toronto. She will be
celebrating her fourth poetry collection, Permiso (Pedlar Press).

Paul Vermeersch
Paul Vermeersch's first collection of poetry, Burn (ECW Press) was a
finalist for the Gerald Lampert Award. He is also the author of The Fat
Kid (ECW Press) and Between the Walls (McClelland & Stewart). He lives in
Toronto, teaches at Sheridan College, and is poetry editor for Insomniac
Press.


TUESDAY JUNE 16

Open Stage Night - hosted by Stephen Humphrey
Rules:
1) You must sign yourself up
2) Sign-up begins at 7:30
3) 30 poets accepted. There are 3 rounds
4) Each poet gets up to 3 minutes to present one poem
5) Poets should bring more than one poem in case there's time for more
rounds.



TUESDAY JUNE 23

Agnes Walsh
Agnes Walsh was born and raised in Placentia, Newfoundland and now lives
in St. John's. She released her first collection of poems, In the Old
Country of My Heart, in 1996. In 2006 she was named the first poet
laureate of Newfoundland and Labrador. In her latest collection, Going
Around With Bachelors (Brick Books), Walsh explores the past in the
present; Ireland and Portugal in Newfoundland; and the Cape Shore.

Christine Thorpe
Christine Thorpe is a native of Penticton, BC, a graduate of the UofT and
Carleton University and a resident of London, ON. Her poems have appeared
in Tower Poetry and the anthology Garden Variety (Quattro Books). Her
book, A Rind of Sun (Serengeti Press) contains a number of drawings by
James Wood.

David O'Meara
David O'Meara lives in Ottawa. He is the author of Storm Still
(McGill-Queen's University Press) which was a finalist for the Lampert
Award, and The Vicinity (Brick Books) which was a finalist for the
Trillium Award. He will be celebrating his third book of poetry, Noble
Gas, Penny Black (Brick Books).


TUESDAY JUNE 30

Carolyn Smart
Carolyn Smart is the author of five volumes of poetry. She is the founder
of the Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers, teaches Creative
Writing at Queen's University, and lives in the country north of Kingston.
She will be celebrating her latest poetry book, Hooked (Brick Books) which
is a collection of seven poems about seven famous or infamous women.

Nic Labriola
Nic Labriola is an actor, playwright, poet and teacher. He is a graduate
from the University of Toronto. He will be celebrating his first
collection of poems Naming the Mannequins (Insomniac Press).

Barbara Landry
Barbara Landry studied piano and English literature at McGill University.
Following that she spent ten years in Mexico where she taught music and
English. Since returning to Canada she has been teaching ESL in Toronto.
She is the author of two chapbooks and one trade volume of poetry, This is
How I Love You (Quattro Books).
