TUESDAY FEBRUARY 2
Bruce Meyer
Bruce Meyer is author of 30 books of poetry, non-fiction, short fiction,
and pedagogy. His most recent titles of poetry are Mesopotamia, Dog Days,
and Bread, all published in 2009. The Golden Thread: A Reader's Journey
Through the Great Books was a national bestseller. His broadcasts on
literature for CBC Radio One (The Great Books, A Novel Idea and Great
Poetry) are the network's bestselling spoken word cd series. He is
Professor, University Studies, English, in the University Partnership
Centre at Georgian College in Barrie where he teaches in the Laurentian
University BA Program.
I.B. (Bunny) Iskov
I.B. (Bunny) Iskov is the Founder of The Ontario Poetry Society
(www.theontariopoetrysociety.ca) Her work has been published in many fine
literary journals and anthologies. Bunny was the 2009 Recipient for the
R.A.V.E. award, (Recognizing Arts Vaughan Excellence) as Art
Educator/Mentor for the City of Vaughan. She is also a Full Member of The
League of Canadian Poets. Bunny will be launching her latest collection,
"Sapphire Seasons", recently published by Aeolus House, Allan Briesmaster,
Editor.
Sankofa
Sankofa is a poet, a radio programmer, a motivational speaker and a
alternative teacher. He has been writing and performing poetry for the
past 10 years. He has travelled to Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso (West
Afrika), Haiti, Jamaica (Caribbean) and across Canada (Nova Scotia,
Windsor, Calgary, Hamilton) in his quest to learn and to teach Afrikan
history. Sankofa's new album titled, 'Sankofa Ancestal Callin' will be in
the stores February 2010.

Suzanne Buffam
Suzanne Buffam is the author of "Past Imperfect," (Anansi which won the
2006 League of Canadian Poets' Gerald Lampert Award), and the chapbook,
"Interiors" (Delirium). Her work has appeared in numerous journals in
Canada and the US, most recently including Poetry, A Public Space, and The
Boston Review, as well as the anthologies "The New Canon" (Signal,
"Jailbreaks: 99 Canadian Sonnets," (Biblioasis and "Breathing Fire:
Canada's New Poets (Vol. 1" (Harbour. Her work has been translated into
French, German, Spanish, and Slovenian, and she has participated in
literary festivals across North America and Europe. Twice nominated for a
Pushcart Prize, she won the CBC Literary Award for poetry in 1998, and
currently teaches creative writing at the University of Chicago.
Aislinn Hunter
Aislinn Hunter is the author of two books of poetry Into the Early Hours
and The Possible Past, a short story collection What's Left Us, and a
novel Stay, all of which have been nominated for, or won, national awards.
She teaches creative writing part-time at Kwantlen Polytechnic University,
and divides her time between Canada and the UK where she is finishing a
Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh.
Yehuda Fisher
Yehuda Fisher a.k.a. PAN, is a poet, actor and musician who lives in
Toronto. Formerly he hosted and produced Art Attack for CHRY 105.5 FM and
now hosts the very successful series WordJam: Poetry/Music Fusion
Playtime. He served as Asst. Artistic Director for the 2009 Rustbelt Slam
in Toronto and is the Slam-Master/Artistic Director of BAM! the Toronto
Youth Slam. He has enjoyed much success touring and competing in poetry
slams through Canada and the U.S. He helped represent Toronto in 2008 at
the Rustbelt Regional Poetry Slam (coaching the 2009 team) and in 2009 at
the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and at the QEW Regional Slam.
Yehuda/PAN is currently a member of the Slam Fam Poetry Collective and the
Toronto Poetry Project, a group focused on nurturing and promoting the
spoken word scene in Toronto through events, slams and workshops. His
poetry has been published and he has one chapbook - Pen to Paper, and one
Poetry CD - Mouth To Mic.
